Prevalence of internet fraud among Nigerian youths

Before the technological innovation that brought about the Internet, the financial fraudsters popularly known as 419-ners were in operation in Nigeria especially in the commercial city of Lagos. They were mainly grown-up, educated and illiterate men and women, who specialised in using fax machines to defraud unsuspected foreigners and Nigerians. In the early 90’s, they were the big men and women in the society. They commanded respect because of the enormous wealth at their disposal. Unfortunately for some of them like Emmanuel Nwude and others, they were arrested by the anti-graft agency, tried and convicted. They lost some of their assets to the anti-graft agency and have since been struggling for survival. In recent times and with the coming of the Internet system, Nigerian youths especially, the undergraduates, have taken to the illicit trade called Internet scam. Investigations reveal that this development is responsible for drastic reduction in cultism in the higher …

The Six Reasons People Attempt Suicide

Though I've never lost a friend or family member to suicide,  The True Cause Of Depression). I have known a number of people left behind by the suicide of people close to them, however. Given how much losing my patient affected me, I've only been able to guess at the devastation these people have experienced. Pain mixed with guilt, anger, and regret makes for a bitter drink, the taste of which I've seen take many months or even years to wash out of some mouths. The one question everyone has asked without exception, that they ache to have answered more than any other, is simply: why? Why did their friend, child, parent, spouse, or sibling take their own life? Even when a note explaining the reasons is found, lingering questions usually remain: yes, they felt enough despair to want to die, but why did they feel that? A person's suicide often takes the people it leaves behind by surprise (only accentuating survivor's guilt for failing to see it coming). People who've survive…

what do women really want?.

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthurs youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question?... What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarchs proposition to have an answer by years end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would hav…

Remember This When Your Ex Moves On Before You

So, you were probably scrolling through Instagram or Facebook, keeping tabs on your friends, when you stumble upon a photo. The photo consists of a close friend of yours and someone they would consider their close friend. You stalk a little and check out this new friend only to find a photo of them with your ex. Instantly, you’re crushed. You yell at the universe and stars above for guiding you to this unwanted discovery.

You start stalking this person. You figure out their name, their physical appearance, their mutual associations, what they do in their spare time, everything. I really hate having the ability to find out anything I want at the tips of my fingers so easily. Social media is really scary at giving us this exposure, no matter how much privacy we set. If you dig deep enough, you can find anything you want; we are like our own personal detectives. You start comparing yourself to her . You either compare yourself to her and praise…

5 Things Women Have To Consider While Dating That Men Never Have To

1. “Am I being carefree enough?”

Whether you realize it or not, when dating someone new, women are constantly straddling this weird line of whether or not they are being carefree enough or not. If we seem too interested, it could be a turn off. If we aren’t interested enough, he might not know we’re into him. It’s this ridiculous back and forth of trying to seem interested and trying to seem like we don’t care and, in the end, it’s so much disingenuous effort that we wish it didn’t have to be a consideration. It’s like there’s this fantasy world where everyone brashly states their intentions and nobody has to appear as anything except as they are and we all would like to get to that place, but nobody knows how to get there.

2. “Did I sleep with him too soon?”

When has a man ever in the history of his life asked himself if he slept with a woman too soon, maybe so soon that she will not be interested i…

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW WHEN DIRECTED BY THE POLICE TO WRITE A STATEMENT –

If the police ask you to write a statement, which they normally do when they stop you on the road and take you to their station or when they invite you to their station, you should know how to write a good statement that will not implicate you. First, whether you write a statement as a witness or as a suspect, you must understand that your statement is very likely going to be used against you either in court or for the purpose of blackmail by some officers (not all). Therefore, take your statement writing as a serious matter. Remember that you have right to refuse to write a statement until your lawyer is present. But this normally leads to argument and hostile reactions from the police, and it may likely be a pretext for them not releasing you immediately. There are no hard and fast rules as to the content of a statement. It is supposed to be what you know in relation to an incident or the reason for you being brought to the station. Since the statement is not just a …
